Sage Parāśara (narrating to Maitreya)
The āśrama functions as a moral and dharmic stage: actions and rebukes within it signal social and spiritual consequence, shaping the unfolding of the dynastic narrative.
Parāśara presents it as a decisive turning point—rebuke leads to immediate departure—showing how a single dharmic or social judgment can redirect a character’s trajectory in the lineage account.
Even when Vishnu is not named in the verse, the Purana’s framework treats such events as operating under Vishnu’s sovereign order—dharma and consequence unfold within the larger providential structure upheld by the Supreme.
