Suta Goswami (narrating the Kotirudra Samhita pilgrimage instructions to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Sthala Purana: Pilgrimage injunction: go to Miśrarṣi-vara-tīrtha, bathe per vidhi, then worship Dādhīceśvara-liṅga. The tīrtha’s authority rests on Dadhīci’s consecration and the prescribed ritual sequence (snāna → arcana).
Significance: Promises purification and eligibility for Śiva’s grace through correct procedure (vidhi) and reverent worship; models the Śaiva Siddhānta emphasis on kriyā (ritual) supporting anugraha.
Offering: pushpa
The verse teaches that purification (tīrtha-snāna) followed by disciplined, reverent Liṅga worship is a direct Shaiva means to grace: outer ritual aligns the devotee’s inner intent, making the mind fit for Shiva’s anugraha (liberating favor).
It points to Saguna worship through the Śiva-liṅga as the accessible form of the transcendent Pati (Shiva). By honoring Dādhīceśvara with proper vidhi and devotion, the devotee approaches the Nirguna reality through a sanctified, worship-worthy symbol.
Perform tīrtha-snāna according to injunctions, then do Liṅga-pūjā with respectful offerings; as a meditative support, mentally repeat the Panchākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” while worshipping with steady attention.
