koṣṭhāni paṃca gṛhrīyādgirirājasute śive | madhye tu karṇikāṃ kuryātpītāṃ raktaṃ ca vṛttakam
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It teaches disciplined sacred visualization: arranging a fivefold structure with a consecrated center, symbolizing ordered worship where the mind is gathered and offered to Pati (Śiva) through a focused inner and outer ritual form.
The five compartments and central karṇikā function like a worship-diagram (mandala/lotus-seat) that supports Saguna devotion—giving the practitioner a concrete sacred locus for invoking and honoring Śiva’s presence before deeper contemplation.
It indicates constructing a lotus-like mandala/yantra with five sections and a central circle (colored yellow and red), to be used as a focused support for pūjā and meditative placement of the deity during Śaiva worship.
