આ દશતિ ઐન્દ્ર વિજય-આહ્વાન છે: સ્તોત્ર/સામગાન દ્વારા ઇન્દ્રની શક્તિને રથ સહિત બોલાવી, અંતરાયોનો નાશ કરીને યજ્ઞને રક્ષા, અનુગ્રહ અને વિજય અપાવવાનો ભાવ છે. અગ્નિનું સ્મરણ સદાજાત યજ્ઞાગ્નિ તરીકે થાય છે—જે વનસ્પતિઓ અને જળોમાં ગુપ્ત રીતે જન્મીને હવિને ધારણ કરે છે; વરુણ, આદિત્યો, મરુતો અને સમસ્ત દેવગણ યજ્ઞની આસપાસ રક્ષક તથા વિજયકારી બળ વધારવા માટે આહ્વાનિત થાય છે. અંતે દેવતાઓનો સામૂહિક ‘ઘોષ’ ગાનને શિખરે પહોંચાડી, દેવગણના એકત્રિત વિજયની ઘોષણા કરે છે.

ગોત્રો પર સહસાથી આક્રમણ કરીને, તેમાં ઊંડે પ્રવેશતો, અજય, શતમન્યુ વીર ઇન્દ્ર—હલાવી ન શકાય એવો, યુદ્ધોમાં વિજયી, અપરાજિત; તે યુદ્ધના અગ્રભાગે અમારી સેના/દળને રક્ષે.

इन्द्र आसां नेता बृहस्पतिर्दक्षिणा यज्ञः पुर एतु सोमः देवसेनानामभिभञ्जतीनां जयन्तीनां मरुतो यन्त्वग्रम्
ઇન્દ્ર આ બધાનો નેતા છે; બૃહસ્પતિ તેમનો માર્ગદર્શક છે; દક્ષિણા, યજ્ઞ અને સોમ આગળ આગળ ચાલે—શત્રુને ભેદી નાખનારી, વિજયી દેવસેનાઓમાં મરુતો અગ્રે ગમન કરે.
