Pulastya

Concept: Purification from sin (pāpa-śuddhi) yields auspicious embodiment, including longevity; dharma and purity are presented as causal to well-being and spiritual capacity.

Application: Adopt daily purification disciplines—truth, non-harm, regulated senses, remembrance of Vishnu; treat health and longevity as stewardship for spiritual practice.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

FAQs

It states that when a person’s inner self is cleansed of all sins, the फल (result) described here is longevity—being “long-lived.”

This is a standard Purāṇic transition: the speaker frames the next teaching as an authoritative, time-honored account, preparing the listener for a new illustrative narrative.

The implied lesson is that moral and spiritual purification (freedom from pāpa) is not merely abstract—it is presented as producing tangible well-being, here expressed as a long and stable life.
