पाण्डवपरिचयः—विराटसभायां प्रकाशनम्

ततः पुनर्भीमरवं प्रगृहाय दोर्भ्या महाशड्खमुदारघोषम् । व्यनादयत् स प्रदिशो दिश: खं भुवं च पार्थो द्विषतां निहन्ता,तत्पश्चात् शत्रुहन्ता कुन्तीकुमारने भयंकर शब्द करनेवाले अपने महाशंखको, जिसकी आवाज बहुत दूरतक सुनायी पड़ती थी, दोनों हाथोंसे थामकर बजाया। उसकी ध्वनि सम्पूर्ण दिशाओं-विदिशाओं, आकाश तथा पृथ्वीमें सब ओर गूँज उठी
tataḥ punar bhīmaravaṁ pragṛhya dorbhyāṁ mahāśaṅkham udāraghoṣam | vyanādayat sa pradiśo diśaḥ khaṁ bhuvaṁ ca pārtho dviṣatāṁ nihantā ||
ત્યારબાદ શત્રુહંત કુંતીપુત્ર અર્જુને ભીમના ગર્જનાસમાન પ્રચંડ નાદવાળો, દૂર સુધી ગુંજતો પોતાનો મહાશંખ બંને ભુજાઓથી મજબૂતીથી પકડી ફરી વગાડ્યો. તેની ધ્વનિ દિશા-વિદિશા, આકાશ અને પૃથ્વીમાં સર્વત્ર ગુંજી ઊઠી.
