प्रावर्तयन्नदीं घोरां शोणितोदां तरज्षिणीम् | अस्थिशैवालसम्बाधां युगान्ते कालनिर्मिताम्
prāvartayannadīṃ ghorāṃ śoṇitodāṃ taraṅgiṇīm | asthiśaivālasambādhāṃ yugānte kālanirmitām |
વૈશમ્પાયન બોલ્યા—તે સમયે પાર્થએ ત્યાં એક ભયંકર નદી પ્રવર્તાવી; તેનું જળ રક્ત હતું અને તેની તરંગો પણ રક્તની જ હતી. અસ્થિ-રૂપ શૈવાલથી તે ઘન બની હતી અને યુગાંતકાળે સాక్షાત્ કાળે રચી હોય એવી લાગતી હતી.
