Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 13 — Kīcaka’s Proposition and Draupadī’s Dharmic Refusal
kṛṣṇā tu sarvān bhartus tān nirīkṣantī tapasvinī | yathā punar avijñātā tathā carati bhāminī ||
Even under hardship and concealment, one should uphold dharma through disciplined conduct: Draupadī combines loyalty and service to her husbands with prudent self-restraint, ensuring their safety by avoiding recognition.
During the incognito period in Virāṭa’s realm, Draupadī carefully watches over and attends to the Pāṇḍavas while behaving in a manner that prevents others from identifying her true identity.
