Dambhodbhava, Nara-Nārāyaṇa, and the Counsel to Abandon Hubris
Udyoga-parva 94
āhuśn emāṃ pariṣadaṃ putrās te bharatarṣabha
The verse foregrounds the ethical weight of collective deliberation: decisions are framed as arising from a recognized council (pariṣad), emphasizing accountability and the role of counsel in righteous governance.
Vaiśampāyana reports that an assembly is being identified as belonging to (or convened by) the listener’s sons—signaling a formal council setting where political and moral decisions will be discussed.
