Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 71 — Kṣatra-dharma Counsel, Public Legitimacy, and Mobilization
एतामवस्थां प्राप्यैके मरणं वव्रिरे जना: । ग्रामायैके वनायैके नाशायैके प्रवव्रजु:
etām avasthāṁ prāpyaike maraṇaṁ vavrirē janāḥ | grāmāyaike vanāyaike nāśāyaike pravavrajuḥ ||
આવી નિર્ધન સ્થિતિ પ્રાપ્ત થતાં કેટલાય લોકોએ મૃત્યુને વર્યું છે. કેટલાકે પોતાનું ગામ છોડીને બીજા ગામમાં વસવાટ કર્યો; કેટલાક વનમાં ચાલ્યા ગયા; અને કેટલાક પોતાના વિનાશની ઇચ્છાથી ઘર છોડીને નીકળી પડ્યા—જાણે પ્રાણ ત્યાગવા જ જઈ રહ્યા હોય.
