Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 50 — Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Appraisal of Bhīmasena (भीमसेनभयवर्णनम्)
निष्कर्णामायसी स्थूलां सुपार्श्वा काउ्चनीं गदाम् | शतघ्नीं शतनिर्हादां कथं शक्ष्यन्ति मे सुता:
niṣkarṇāmāyasīṁ sthūlāṁ supārśvāṁ kāñcanīṁ gadām | śataghnīṁ śatanirghādāṁ kathaṁ śakṣyanti me sutāḥ ||
ધૃતરાષ્ટ્ર બોલ્યો—તેની લોખંડની ગદા સીધી, ભારે, સુંદર બાજુવાળી અને સોનાથી અલંકૃત છે; તેનો ઘોર નાદ શત-શત વજ્રપાત સમાન ગુંજે છે અને એક જ પ્રહારમાં સૈકડોને પાડી દે છે. મારા પુત્રો તેનો આઘાત કેવી રીતે સહન કરશે?
