उद्योगपर्व — अध्याय ५ (कृष्णनीति: न्यायशम-उपदेशः; विराट-द्रुपदयोः सैन्यसमाह्वानम्)
भवान् वृद्धतमो राज्ञां वयसा च श्रुतेन च । शिष्यवत् ते वयं सर्वे भवामेह न संशय:
bhavān vṛddhatamo rājñāṁ vayasā ca śrutena ca | śiṣyavat te vayaṁ sarve bhavāmeha na saṁśayaḥ ||
વાયુદેવે કહ્યું—રાજાઓમાં તમે વયથી પણ અને શ્રુતજ્ઞાનથી પણ સર્વોત્તમ, એટલે સર્વથી વૃદ્ધ અને શાસ્ત્રજ્ઞ છો. તેમાં સંશય નથી કે અહીં અમે સૌ તમારા શિષ્ય સમાન છીએ.
