यदा मन्द: परबाणान् विमुक्तान् ममेषुभिह्ठियमाणान् प्रतीपम् । तिर्यग्विध्याच्छिद्यमानान् पृषत्कै- स्तदा युद्ध धार्तराष्ट्रोडन्वतप्स्यत्
yadā mandaḥ parabāṇān vimuktān mameṣubhiḥ pratīpaṃ nivāryamāṇān | tiryag vidhyāc chidyamānān pṛṣatkaiḥ tadā yuddhe dhārtarāṣṭro ’nutapsyati ||
સંજય બોલ્યા—યુદ્ધમાં શત્રુઓએ છોડેલા બાણો મારા બાણો સાથે ટકરાઈ અટકીને ઉલટા પાછા ફરતા તે જોશે, અને તેમના શરસમૂહને મારા બીજા બાણો તિર્યક રીતે ભેદીને કાપી ટુકડા-ટુકડા કરતા જોશે, ત્યારે તે મંદબુદ્ધિ ધૃતરાષ્ટ્રપુત્ર યુદ્ધ પ્રેરવા બદલ કડવા પસ્તાવાથી ભરાઈ જશે.
