यदा द्रष्टा भीमसेनेन नागान् निपातितान् गिरिकूटप्रकाशान् । कुम्भैरिवासृग्वमतो भिन्नकुम्भां- स्तदा युद्ध धार्तराष्ट्रोडन्वतप्स्यत्
sañjaya uvāca | yadā draṣṭā bhīmasenena nāgān nipātitān girikūṭaprakāśān | kumbhair ivāsṛg vamato bhinnakumbhāṁs tadā yuddhe dhārtarāṣṭro 'nvatapsyat ||
સંજય બોલ્યા—જ્યારે દુર્યોધન જોશે કે ભીમસેને પર્વતશિખર સમાન વિશાળ ગજરાજોને પાડી દીધા છે, તેમના કુંભસ્થળ ફાટી ગયા છે અને લોહી એવું વહે છે જાણે તૂટેલા ઘડામાંથી ઢોળાતું હોય—ત્યારે યુદ્ધની વચ્ચે જ ધૃતરાષ્ટ્રપુત્રને આ સંઘર્ષ ઉકેલ્યો તેનો દાહક પસ્તાવો થશે।
