उद्योगपर्व — अध्याय 33: धृतराष्ट्र-विदुर संवादः (विदुरनीतिः)
राजा लक्षणसम्पन्नस्त्रैलोक्यस्यापि यो भवेत् | शिष्यस्ते शासिता सोडस्तु धृतराष्ट्र युधिष्ठिर:
rājā lakṣaṇasampannastrailokyasyāpi yo bhavet | śiṣyaste śāsitā soḍastu dhṛtarāṣṭra yudhiṣṭhiraḥ ||
વિદુર બોલ્યા— હે ધૃતરાષ્ટ્ર! કોઈ રાજા સર્વ રાજલક્ષણોથી યુક્ત થઈ ત્રિલોકનો પણ અધિપતિ બને, તો પણ તેને શાસન-શિસ્ત સ્વીકારવી જ જોઈએ. યુધિષ્ઠિર તમારો શિષ્ય છે—તે ઉપદેશથી ચાલે એવો, નિયંત્રણ સ્વીકારતો એવો છે; તેથી મોહ ત્યજી, મંત્રણા મુજબ રાજ્ય ચલાવો.
