Crisis-Discernment of Right and Wrong
अबुदृध्वा त्वं धर्ममेतं सभाया- मथेच्छसे पाण्डवस्योपदेष्टम् । कृष्णा त्वेतत् कर्म चकार शुद्ध सुदुष्करं तत्र सभां समेत्य,संजय! द्यूतसभामें जो अन्याय हुआ था, उसे भुलाकर तुम पाण्डुनन्दन युधिष्ठिरको धर्मका उपदेश देना चाहते हो। द्रौपदीने उस दिन सभामें जाकर अत्यन्त दुष्कर और पवित्र कार्य किया कि उसने पाण्डवों तथा अपनेको महान् संकटसे बचा लिया; ठीक उसी तरह, जैसे नौका समुद्रकी अगाध जलराशिमें डूबनेसे बचा लेती है। उस सभामें कृष्णा श्वशुरजनोंके समीप खड़ी थी, तो भी सूतपुत्र कर्णने उसे अपमानित करते हुए कहा --'याज्ञसेनि! अब तेरे लिये दूसरी गति नहीं है, तू दासी बनकर दुर्योधनके महलमें चली जा। पाण्डव जूएमें अपनेको हार चुके हैं, अतः अब वे तेरे पति नहीं रहे। भाविनि! अब तू किसी दूसरेको अपना पति वरण कर ले'

સંજય! સભામાં જે ધર્મસ્થિતિ હતી તેને સાચી રીતે સમજ્યા વિના તું પાંડુનંદન યુધિષ્ઠિરને ધર્મનો ઉપદેશ આપવા ઇચ્છે છે. પરંતુ કૃષ્ણા (દ્રૌપદી) એ જ સભામાં જઈ એક અત્યંત દુષ્કર અને પવિત્ર કાર્ય કર્યું—જેનાથી તેણે પાંડવોને અને પોતાને મહા સંકટમાંથી ઉગાર્યા, જેમ નૌકા સમુદ્રના પ્રચંડ પ્રવાહમાંથી બચાવે. અને એ જ સભામાં, શ્વશુરવર્ગના વડીલોની નજીક ઊભેલી કૃષ્ણાને સૂતપુત્ર કર્ણે અપમાનિત કરીને કહ્યું— ‘યાજ્ઞસેની! હવે તારા માટે બીજી ગતિ નથી; દાસી બની દુર્યોધનના ભવનમાં જા. પાંડવો જુગારમાં પોતાને જ હારી ગયા છે; તેથી હવે તેઓ તારા પતિ રહ્યા નથી. ભાવિની! હવે કોઈ બીજાને પતિ રૂપે વર.’
