अम्बोपाख्याने तापसानां विचारः तथा होत्रवाहनस्य उपदेशः
Ambā among ascetics; Hotravāhana directs her to Paraśurāma
(अभिनन्दस्व मां राजन् सदा प्रियहिते रताम् । प्रतिपादय मां राजन् धर्मार्थ चैव धर्मतः ।।
abhinandāsva māṃ rājan sadā priyahite ratām | pratipādaya māṃ rājan dharmārthaṃ caiva dharmataḥ || tvaṃ hi manasā dhyātas tvayā cāpy upamantritā ||
“રાજન! હું સદા તમારા પ્રિય અને હિતમાં રત છું; મને સ્વીકારી આનંદિત થાઓ. નરેશ્વર! ધર્માનુસાર, ધર્માર્થે જ મને ગ્રહણ કરીને તમારા ચરણોમાં સ્થાન આપો. મેં મનમાં સદા તમારું જ ચિંતન કર્યું છે, અને તમે પણ એકાંતમાં મને વિવાહનો પ્રસ્તાવ આપ્યો હતો।” આ સાંભળી શાલ્વપતિ સ્મિત સાથે બોલ્યો— “સુંદરી! તું અગાઉ અન્યની થઈ ચૂકી છે; તેથી તને પત્ની બનાવવા મારી ઇચ્છા નથી।”
