This line is not a doctrinal verse but a colophon: it teaches how the epic frames ethical counsel within a carefully organized narrative structure—marking that Bhīṣma and Droṇa’s counsel belongs to the pre-war diplomatic efforts (Bhagavad-yāna), where dharma is debated before violence becomes inevitable.
The chapter concludes. The text identifies its location: Udyoga Parva, within the Bhagavad-yāna section, and notes that the chapter contained the statements of Bhīṣma and Droṇa. It functions as an editorial/narrative boundary rather than a spoken utterance.
