खरीवात्सल्यमाहुस्तन्नि:सामर्थ्यमहेतुकम् । सद्धिविगर्हितं मार्ग त्यज मूर्खनिषेवितम्
kharīvātsalyam āhus tan niḥsāmarthyam ahetukam | sad dhi vigarhitaṃ mārgaṃ tyaja mūrkha-niṣevitam ||
આને ‘ગધેડા જેવી મમતા’ કહે છે—અસમર્થતામાંથી જન્મેલી નિર્હેતુક નબળાઈ. તેથી સજ્જનો દ્વારા નિંદિત અને મૂર્ખો દ્વારા સેવિત એ માર્ગ ત્યજી દે.
