कि ते जनक्षयेणेह कृतेन भरतर्षभ । यस्मिज्जिते जितं तत् स्यात् पुमानेक: स दृश्यताम्
ki te janakṣayeṇeha kṛtena bharatarṣabha | yasmiñ jite jitaṃ tat syāt pumān ekaḥ sa dṛśyatām ||
વૈશમ્પાયન બોલ્યા—“હે ભરતવૃષભ, અહીં જનક્ષય કરવાથી તને શું લાભ? તારા પક્ષમાં એવો એક પુરુષ શોધ, જે અર્જુનને જીતે; કારણ કે જેને જીતવામાં આવે તો વિજય નિશ્ચિત માનવામાં આવે.”
