कर्मणा क्षत्रियाश्रैते निर्धणा भोगिभोजिन: । ज्ञातिसंक्षयकर्तत्वाद ब्राह्मुण्यं न लभन्ति वै,ब्राह्मणकुलमें उत्पन्न होकर भी ये कर्मसे क्षत्रिय हैं। इनमें दया नहीं होती है। ये सर्पोंको ही अपना आहार बनाते हैं। इस प्रकार अपने भाई-बन्धुओं (नागों)-का संहार करनेके कारण इन्हें ब्राह्मणत्व प्राप्त नहीं है

Transliteration

karmaṇā kṣatriyāśraite nirdhaṇā bhogibhojinaḥ | jñātisaṃkṣayakartṛtvād brāhmaṇyaṃ na labhanti vai ||

Translation

નારદે કહ્યું—બ્રાહ્મણકુલમાં જન્મ્યા છતાં કર્મથી તેઓ ક્ષત્રિય-સ્વભાવ ધરાવે છે. તેઓ નિર્દય છે અને સર્પોને જ આહાર બનાવે છે. પોતાના જ જ્ઞાતિ-બંધુઓનો સંહાર કરવાના કારણે તેમને બ્રાહ્મણત્વ પ્રાપ્ત થતું નથી।
