राजा वसुमना नाम ज्ञानवान् धृतिमान् शुचि: । महर्षि परिपप्रच्छ वामदेवं तपस्विनम्
rājā vasumanā nāma jñānavān dhṛtimān śuciḥ | maharṣiṃ paripapraccha vāmadevaṃ tapasvinam ||
ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—વસુમના નામનો એક રાજા હતો—જ્ઞાની, ધૈર્યવાન અને શુદ્ધ આચરણવાળો. ધર્મજીવનની સ્પષ્ટતા મેળવવા તેણે તપસ્વી મહર્ષિ વામદેવને વિનયપૂર્વક પ્રશ્ન કર્યો.
