Book 12, Chapter 93 — Vāmadeva’s Counsel to King Vasumanā on Dharmic Kingship (धर्मप्रधान-राजधर्मोपदेशः)
अथ मानयितुर्दाम्न: श्लक्षणस्य वशवर्तिन: । व्यसन स्वमिवोत्पन्नं विजिघांसन्ति मानवा:
atha mānayitur dāmnaḥ ślakṣṇasya vaśavartinaḥ | vyasanaṃ svam ivotpannaṃ vijighāṃsanti mānavāḥ ||
જે સૌને માન આપે, દાનશીલ હોય, વર્તનમાં સૌમ્ય હોય, અને બીજાનો વિચાર કરીને તેમની અનુકૂળતા મુજબ વર્તે—તેના પર જો કોઈ આપત્તિ આવે, તો લોકો તેને પોતાનું જ દુઃખ માની તેને દૂર કરવા પ્રયત્ન કરે છે.
