आपद्धर्मे वैश्यवृत्तिः, विक्रय-निषेधाः, तथा ब्रह्म-क्षत्र-सम्बन्धः

भवते*हं ददानीदं भवानेतत् प्रयच्छतु । रुचितो वर्तते धर्मो न बलात् सम्प्रवर्तते
bhavate ’haṃ dadānīdaṃ bhavān etat prayacchatu | rucito vartate dharmo na balāt sampravartate ||
ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—‘હું તમને આ આપું છું; તમે બદલે મને તે આપો’—આ રીતે બંને પક્ષની રુચિ અને સંમતિથી જે વસ્તુઓનો વિનિમય થાય, તે ધર્મ ગણાય છે. પરંતુ બળજબરીથી કરાયેલો વિનિમય ધર્મ નથી.
