राज्ञो वृत्त-गुण-संग्रहः (Conduct and the Thirty-Six Virtues of a King) / The King’s Code of Conduct
एवं चरस्व राज्यस्थो यदि श्रेय इहेच्छसि । अतोडन्यथा नरपतिर्भयमृत्छत्यनुत्तमम्
evaṁ carasva rājyastho yadi śreya ihecchasi | ato ’nyathā narapatir bhayam ṛcchaty anuttamam, yudhiṣṭhira ||
ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—યુધિષ્ઠિર! જો તું આ લોકમાં કલ્યાણ ઇચ્છે છે, તો રાજધર્મમાં સ્થિર રહી આ રીતે જ વર્ત; કારણ કે તેના વિરુદ્ધ વર્તનાર રાજા અતુલ ભય અને મહાવિપત્તિમાં પડી જાય છે.
