Rājā–Rāja-Śabda-Prabhavaḥ — The Origin and Rationale of Kingship and Daṇḍanīti
पाल्यमानास्तथान्योन्यं नरा धर्मेण भारत । खेदं परमुपाजग्मुस्ततस्तान् मोह आविशत्
pālyamānās tathānyonyaṁ narā dharmeṇa bhārata | khedaṁ param upājagmus tatas tān moha āviśat ||
હે ભારત! મનુષ્યો ધર્મ દ્વારા પરસ્પર પાલન-પોષણ કરતા હતા; પરંતુ સમય જતાં એ જ પરસ્પર રક્ષણના કાર્યમાં તેમને ભારે કષ્ટ અનુભવાવા લાગ્યું; ત્યાર પછી સૌ પર મોહ છવાઈ ગયો.
