Nārada’s Account of the Kaliṅga Svayaṃvara: Duryodhana’s Seizure and Karṇa’s Escort
दुर्योधनस्तु कौरव्यो नामर्षयत लड्घनम् । प्रत्यषेधच्च तां कन्यामसत्कृत्य नराधिपान्
duryodhanas tu kauravyo nāmarṣayata laṅghanam | pratyaṣedhac ca tāṃ kanyām asatkṛtya narādhipān |
નારદે કહ્યું—કુરુવંશીય દુર્યોધન એ અપમાન સહન કરી શક્યો નહિ કે રાજકન્યા તેને વટાવી અન્યત્ર જાય. ત્યાં એકત્ર થયેલા નરાધિપોને અવગણી, તેમનું અપમાન કરીને, તેણે તે કન્યાને બળપૂર્વક અટકાવી રાખી અને અન્યત્ર જવા દીધી નહિ.
