Vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca: etad dhayaśiro rājann ākhyānaṃ tava kīrtitam | purāṇaṃ vedasamitaṃ yan māṃ tvaṃ paripṛcchasi ||
રાજન! તું જે હયશિર (હયગ્રીવ) અવતારના આખ્યાન વિષે મને પૂછ્યું હતું, તે વેદસંમતિ ધરાવતી પ્રાચીન કથા મેં તને કહી સંભળાવી છે.
