The Brahmin’s Vow and the Nāgas’ Hospitality Appeal
tasmād api ca nirmuktā aniruddha-tanau sthitāḥ
The verse emphasizes liberation through complete detachment: once freed from prior bonds, the liberated ones remain firmly established in the divine reality represented here as Aniruddha—suggesting steadfast God-centeredness as the culmination of spiritual practice.
Nārada continues an instruction in the Śānti Parva, describing the state of those who have become free: they are no longer entangled in former constraints and are portrayed as abiding in Aniruddha’s form/presence, indicating their settled, unwavering spiritual attainment.
