धर्मस्य बहुद्वारत्वम् — Nārada’s Audience with Indra (Śānti-parva 340)
माया होषा मया सृष्टा यन्मां पश्यसि नारद
māyā hoṣā mayā sṛṣṭā yan māṃ paśyasi nārada
નારદ! તું જે ‘મને’ જુએ છે, તે મારી જ સર્જેલી માયા છે.
भीष्म उवाच
That what is perceived may be a constructed appearance (māyā), and that ethical and spiritual understanding requires discrimination between surface perception and underlying reality.
Bhīṣma addresses the sage Nārada and explains that the form or presence being perceived is not the ultimate reality of ‘me’ but an appearance he has manifested—highlighting the theme of illusion and the limits of ordinary seeing.
