प्राप्य श्वेतं महाद्वीपं तच्चित्तास्तदूदिदृक्षव: । ततोअस्मद्दृष्टिविषयस्तदा प्रतिहतो5भवत्,'श्वेत नामक महाद्वीपमें पहुँचकर हमारा चित्त भगवानमें ही लगा रहा। हम उनके दर्शनकी इच्छासे उत्कण्ठित हो रहे थे। वहाँ जाते ही हमारी दृष्टिशक्ति प्रतिहत हो गयी
prāpya śvetaṁ mahādvīpaṁ taccittās tad-udidṛkṣavaḥ | tato 'smad-dṛṣṭi-viṣayas tadā pratihato 'bhavat ||
ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—“શ્વેત નામના મહાદ્વીપે પહોંચતાં જ અમારું ચિત્ત ભગવાનમાં સંપૂર્ણ લીન થયું અને તેમના દર્શનની તીવ્ર ઉત્કંઠા જાગી. પરંતુ ત્યાં પહોંચતાં જ અમારી દૃષ્ટિની પહોંચ અટકી ગઈ—જોવાની શક્તિ અવરોધિત થઈ ગઈ.”
