श्रुत्वा चर्षिस्तद् वचनं शुकस्य प्रीतो महात्मा पुनराह चैनम् | भो भो पुत्र स्थीयतां तावदद्य यावच्चक्षु: प्रीणयामि त्वदर्थे,शुकदेवकी यह बात सुनकर अत्यन्त प्रसन्न हुए महात्मा व्यासने उनसे कहा--“बेटा! बेटा! आज यहीं रहो, जिससे तुम्हें जी-भर निहारकर अपने नेत्रोंको तृप्त कर लूँ”
śrutvā cārṣis tad vacanaṃ śukasya prīto mahātmā punar āha cainam | bho bho putra sthīyatāṃ tāvad adya yāvac cakṣuḥ prīṇayāmi tvadarthe ||
શુકના વચન સાંભળી મહાત્મા વ્યાસ અત્યંત પ્રસન્ન થયા અને ફરી તેને કહ્યું—“પુત્ર! પુત્ર! આજે થોડો સમય અહીં જ રહો, જેથી હું તમને મનભર નિહાળી, તમારા માટે મારી આંખોને તૃપ્ત કરી લઉં.”
