देवतापितृप्रश्नः — Nārada at Badarīāśrama: the ultimate referent of daiva and pitṛ worship

यो लुब्ध: सुभुशं प्रियानृतश्न मनुष्य: सततनिकृतिवज्चनाभिरति: स्यात्‌ । उपनिधिभिरसुखकृत्स परमनिरयगो भृशमसुखमनुभवति दुष्कृतकर्मा,जो पुरुष अत्यन्त लोभी, असत्यसे प्रेम करनेवाला और सर्वदा कपटभरी बातें बनानेवाला और ठगाईमें रत है तथा जो तरह-तरहके साधनोंसे दूसरोंको दुःख देता है, वह पापात्मा घोर नरकमें पड़कर अत्यन्त दुःख भोगता है

yo lubdhaḥ subahuśaṃ priyānṛtaśna manuṣyaḥ satata-nikṛti-vañcanābhiratiḥ syāt | upanidhibhir asukha-kṛt sa parama-niraya-go bhṛśam asukham anubhavati duṣkṛta-karmā ||

વ્યાસે કહ્યું—જે પુરુષ અત્યંત લોભી છે, મીઠા અસત્યમાં આનંદ લે છે, સદા કપટ અને ઠગાઈમાં રત રહે છે અને વિવિધ ઉપાયોથી બીજાને દુઃખ આપે છે—એવો દુષ્કર્મી પાપાત્મા પરમ ઘોર નરકમાં જઈને અતિ દુઃખ ભોગવે છે.
