विशेषधर्मा नृपते वर्णानां परिकीर्तिता: । धर्मान् साधारणांस्तात विस्तरेण शृणुष्व मे,महाराज! ये वर्णोंके विशेष धर्म बताये गये हैं। तात! अब उनके साधारण धर्मोंका विस्तारपूर्वक वर्णन मुझसे सुनो
viśeṣa-dharmā nṛpate varṇānāṁ parikīrtitāḥ | dharmān sādhāraṇāṁs tāta vistareṇa śṛṇuṣva me, mahārāja ||
હે નૃપતે! વર્ણોના વિશેષ ધર્મો તો પહેલેથી જ વર્ણવાયા છે. હવે, તાત—હે મહારાજ—સર્વને સામાન્ય રીતે લાગુ પડતા ધર્મોનું વિસ્તારે મારી પાસેથી શ્રવણ કર.
