मरुद्गणा मरुत्तस्य यत्‌ सोममपिबंस्तत: । देवान्‌ मनुष्यान्‌ गन्धर्वानत्यरिच्यन्त दक्षिणा:

marudgaṇā maruttasya yat somam apibaṁs tataḥ | devān manuṣyān gandharvān atyaricyanta dakṣiṇāḥ ||

વાયુ બોલ્યા—મરુત્તના યજ્ઞમાં જ્યારે મરુદગણોએ સોમરસ પાન કર્યો, ત્યારે રાજાએ આપેલી દક્ષિણાઓ એટલી અતિશય થઈ ગઈ કે તે દેવો, મનુષ્યો અને ગંધર્વોને અપાતી દક્ષિણાઓને પણ વટાવી ગઈ।
