सहसंर॑ तुभ्यमित्युक्त्वा ब्राह्मणान् सम्प्रपद्यते । “राजा अपने विशाल यज्ञमें ब्राह्मणोंको सोनेके निष्क दिया करते थे। वहाँ द्विजलोग पुकार-पुकारकर कहते कि “ब्राह्मणो! यह तुम्हारे लिये निष्क है
sahasraṃ tubhyam ity uktvā brāhmaṇān samprapadyate |
વાયુએ કહ્યું—તે મહાયજ્ઞમાં રાજા બ્રાહ્મણોને સોનાના નિષ્ક દાન આપતા. ત્યાં દ્વિજ વારંવાર બોલાવતા—“બ્રાહ્મણો! આ નિષ્ક તમારાં માટે છે, આ નિષ્ક તમારાં માટે છે,” છતાં કોઈ આગળ આવી સ્વીકારતું નહીં. પછી “તમારા માટે એક સહસ્ર નિષ્ક” એમ કહીને જ તે સ્વીકારનાર બ્રાહ્મણોને આગળ લાવી શકતો હતો.
