उस समय इन्द्र आदि सब देवताओंने दक्ष प्रजापतिके यज्ञमें जानेके लिये परस्पर मिलकर निश्चय किया ।।

Transliteration

te vimānair mahātmāno jvalanārka-samaprabhaiḥ | devasyānumate ’gacchan gaṅgādvāram iti śrutiḥ ||

Translation

ત્યારે ઇન્દ્ર આદિ સર્વ દેવતાઓએ પરસ્પર સંમતિ કરીને દક્ષ પ્રજાપતિના યજ્ઞમાં જવાનું નક્કી કર્યું. અગ્નિ અને સૂર્ય સમાન તેજસ્વી વિમાનોમાં આરુઢ થઈ, મહાદેવની અનુમતિ લઈને તેઓ ગંગાદ્વાર (હરિદ્વાર) ગયા—એવું પરંપરામાં સાંભળવામાં આવે છે.
