चिरकारि-उपाख्यानम् / The Exemplum of Cirakārī: Deliberation Before Irreversible Action
सर्व प्रियाभ्युपगतं धर्ममाहुर्मनीषिण: । पश्यैतं लक्षणोद्देशं धर्माधर्मे युधिछ्ठिर
sarva-priyābhyupagataṁ dharmam āhur manīṣiṇaḥ | paśyaitaṁ lakṣaṇoddeśaṁ dharmādharmayoḥ yudhiṣṭhira ||
ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—મનીષી પુરુષો કહે છે કે સર્વ પ્રત્યે પ્રેમભર્યા સદ્ભાવ પર આધારિત જે વર્તન છે, તે જ ધર્મ છે. હે યુધિષ્ઠિર, ધર્મ અને અધર્મ ઓળખવાનો સંક્ષિપ્ત લક્ષણ આ છે: જે સર્વજન હિતભાવ અને પ્રેમને અનુરૂપ છે તે ધર્મ; અને જે તેના વિરુદ્ધ છે તે અધર્મ.
