ब्राह्मणस्य पूर्वतरा वृत्तिः — The Earlier Ideal Conduct of a Brahmana
River-of-Saṃsāra Metaphor
इदं तु लब्ध्वा संस्थानमात्मानं बहु मन्यसे । सर्वभूतभवं देवं ब्रह्माणमिव शाश्वतम्
idaṁ tu labdhvā saṁsthānam ātmānaṁ bahu manyase | sarvabhūtabhavaṁ devaṁ brahmāṇam iva śāśvatam ||
આ સ્થાન અને આ દેહ પ્રાપ્ત કરીને તું પોતાને બહુ મહાન માને છે—જાણે સર્વભૂતનો જનક શાશ્વત દેવ બ્રહ્મા જ હોય; પરંતુ આ ઇન્દ્રપદ ક્યારેય અચલ કે અનંતકાળ ટકનારું સાબિત થયું નથી—ઘણાએ તેને ધારણ કર્યું અને ચાલ્યા ગયા. મોહગ્રસ્ત બુદ્ધિથી તું તેને પોતાનું માને છે.
