ततो<गच्छत् विस्मयं ते दानवेन्द्रा भयं तथा । संशयं गतमात्मानं मेनिरे च सहस्रश:,इससे उन दानवेन्द्रोंकी बड़ा विस्स्मथ और भय प्राप्त हुआ। वे सहस्रों दैत्य अपने आपको जीवनके संशयमें पड़ा हुआ मानने लगे
tato ’gacchat vismayaṁ te dānavendrā bhayaṁ tathā | saṁśayaṁ gatam ātmānaṁ menire ca sahasraśaḥ ||
ત્યારે તે દાનવેન્દ્રોને ભારે આશ્ચર્ય અને ભય થયો. હજારો દૈત્યો પોતાના પ્રાણ વિષે સંશયમાં પડી ગયા—જીવશે કે નહીં એમ.
