मनुष्यों ब्राह्मणश्चासि श्रोत्रियश्वासि काश्यप । सुदुर्लभमवाप्यैतन्न दोषान्मर्तुमहसि
manuṣyo brāhmaṇaś cāsi śrotriyaś cāsi kāśyapa | sudurlabham avāpyaitad na doṣān martum arhasi ||
ભીષ્મે કહ્યું— “કાશ્યપ! તમે મનુષ્ય છો, બ્રાહ્મણ છો અને શ્રોત્રિય પણ છો. એવો અતિ દુર્લભ દેહ મેળવી તેની ખામીઓ જ જોઈને પોતે જ મરવા ઉદ્યત થવું યોગ્ય નથી.”
