अब मैं सैकड़ों दिन-रातोंतक साधन करके भी क्या कभी वह उपाय कर सकता हूँ, जिससे आज सियारकी योनिमें पड़ा हुआ मैं पुनः वह मनुष्ययोनि पा सकूँ ।।
santuṣṭaś cāpramattaś ca yajña-dāna-tapo-ratiḥ | jñeyaṃ jñātvā bhaveyaṃ vai varjyaṃ varjayitā tathā ||
ભીષ્મે કહ્યું— શું હું ફરી માનવજન્મ પ્રાપ્ત કરી શકીશ—એવો કે જેમાં હું સંતોષ અને સાવચેતી સાથે યજ્ઞ, દાન અને તપમાં રત રહું; જેમાં જાણવાપાત્રને યથાર્થ જાણું અને ત્યજવાપાત્રનો ત્યાગ કરું?
