अपाणिव्वाद् वय ब्रह्मन् कण्टकं नोद्धरामहे । जन्तूनुच्चावचानड्े दशतो न कषाम वा
apāṇivat vayaṁ brahman kaṇṭakaṁ noddharāmahe | jantūn uccāvacān daśato na kṣāmā vā ||
હે બ્રાહ્મણ! અમે હાથ વિનાવાળાં જેવા છીએ; અમારા શરીરમાં કાંટા ઘૂસી જાય છે, છતાં અમે તેને કાઢી શકતા નથી. નાના-મોટા અનેક જીવ અમને કાટે-ડંખે, તેમને પણ અમે હટાવી શકતા નથી.
