परिवेष्टाग्निहोत्रस्य भवेन्नासंस्कृतस्तथा । न कन्या, न युवती, न मन्त्र न जाननेवाला, न मूर्ख और न संस्कारहीन पुरुष ही अग्निमें हवन करनेका अधिकारी है

Transliteration

pariveṣṭāgnihotrasya bhavennāsaṁskṛtastathā |

Translation

ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—અગ્નિહોત્ર અને તેની અનુસંગી વિધિઓમાં અસંસ્કૃત (દીક્ષાવિહિન) વ્યક્તિને અધિકાર નથી. ન કન્યા, ન અવિવાહિતા યુવતી, ન મંત્ર ન જાણનાર, ન મૂર્ખ અને ન સંસ્કારહીન પુરુષ—અગ્નિમાં હવન કરવા યોગ્ય છે.
