Tri-varga Deliberation: Dharma, Artha, Kāma

यच्च पैतामहं स्थान ब्रह्म॒राशिसमुद्धवम्‌ । गुहायां पिहित॑ नित्यं तद्‌ दमेनाभिगम्यते,ब्रह्मराशिसे उत्पन्न हुआ जो पितामह ब्रह्माजीका उत्तम धाम है, वह हृदयगुहामें छिपा हुआ है। उसकी प्राप्ति सदा दम (इन्द्रियसंयम और मनोनिग्रह) से ही होती है

Transliteration

yac ca paitāmahaṃ sthānaṃ brahma-rāśi-samudbhavam | guhāyāṃ pihitaṃ nityaṃ tad damenābhigamyate ||

Translation

ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—બ્રહ્મ-સ્ત્રોતમાંથી ઉત્પન્ન થયેલું પિતામહ બ્રહ્માનું પરમ સ્થાન સદા હૃદય-ગુહામાં ગુપ્ત રહે છે. તેની પ્રાપ્તિ માત્ર ‘દમ’ દ્વારા થાય છે—અર્થાત્ ઇન્દ્રિયસંયમ અને મનનો દૃઢ નિયંત્રણ.
