मातापितृगुरुपूजा-प्रशंसा
Praise of Venerating Mother, Father, and Teacher
अवध्या हि सदा माता पिता चाप्यपकारिणौ
avadhyā hi sadā mātā pitā cāpyapakāriṇau |
ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—માતા સદા અવધ્ય છે અને પિતા પણ—તેઓ ઉપકાર કરે કે અપકાર. પિતા કે માતાથી કોઈ દોષ થઈ જાય તો પણ તેમને ઇજા કરવી કે તિરસ્કાર કરવો યોગ્ય નથી; કારણ કે પુત્ર અથવા શિષ્ય તેમની ખામી જોઈને પણ પ્રતિશોધથી દૂષિત ન થવો જોઈએ. સ્નેહવશ એવા વડીલો પુત્ર કે શિષ્ય પર દોષારોપણ કરતા નથી; પરંતુ સદા તેને ધર્મમાર્ગે લાવવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરે છે. આવા માતા-પિતા વગેરે ગુરુજનોનું સાચું મહત્ત્વ મહર્ષિઓ સાથે દેવતાઓ જ સંપૂર્ણ રીતે જાણે છે.
