स चानेन नृशंसेन धृष्टद्युम्नेन वीर्यवान्
sa cānena nṛśaṃsena dhṛṣṭadyumnena vīryavān
સંજય બોલ્યો—અને તે પરાક્રમી યોદ્ધા પર તે નિર્દય ધૃષ્ટદ્યુમ્ને પ્રહાર કર્યો; યુદ્ધના ઉન્માદમાં કઠોર સંકલ્પ ઘણી વાર શીલની કોમળ મર્યાદાઓને ઢાંકી દે છે—એ વાત અહીં સ્પષ્ટ થાય છે.
