पाण्डुभ्य: प्रार्थ्मानो5पि पित्र्यमंशं न दत्तवान् | “विदुर, द्रोणाचार्य, कृपाचार्य, भीष्म तथा सूंजयोंके बारंबार प्रार्थना करनेपर भी इसने पाण्डवोंको उनका पैतृक भाग नहीं दिया
pāṇḍubhyaḥ prārthyamāno 'pi pitryam aṁśaṁ na dattavān |
સંજયે કહ્યું: પાંડવો માટે વારંવાર વિનંતી કરવામાં આવી હોવા છતાં તેણે તેમનો પિતૃભાગ—ધર્મસંગત હિસ્સો—આપ્યો નહીં. વિદુર, દ્રોણાચાર્ય, કૃપાચાર્ય, ભીષ્મ તથા સંજયના પુનઃપુન પ્રાર્થન છતાં તેણે પાંડવોનો યોગ્ય વારસો અટકાવ્યો।
