एतदिच्छाम्यहं श्रोतुं परं कौतूहलं हि मे । इसके बाद धैर्यवान् असितने उन लोकोंमें रहनेवाले ब्रह्मययाजी सिद्धों और साधु पुरुषोंसे हाथ जोड़कर विनीतभावसे पूछा--“महात्माओ! मैं महातेजस्वी जैगीषव्यको अब देख नहीं रहा हूँ। आप उनका पता बतावें। मैं उनके विषयमें सुनना चाहता हूँ। इसके लिये मेरे मनमें बड़ी उत्कण्ठा है”

વૈશંપાયન બોલ્યા—“હું આ સાંભળવા ઇચ્છું છું; મારું કૌતૂહલ અત્યંત છે.” ત્યારબાદ ધૈર્યવાન અસિતે હાથ જોડીને વિનયપૂર્વક, તે લોકોમાં વસતા બ્રહ્મયયાજી સિદ્ધો અને સાધુ પુરુષોને પૂછ્યું—“મહાત્માઓ! હું હવે મહાતેજસ્વી જૈગીષવ્યને નથી જોતો. કૃપા કરીને કહો, તેઓ ક્યાં છે? હું તેમના વિષે સાંભળવા ઇચ્છું છું; મારા મનમાં મોટી ઉત્કંઠા છે.”
