काउ्चने लोष्ठ भावे च समदर्शी महातपा: । देवानपूजयतन्नित्यमतिथींश्व द्विजैः सह,सोना हो या मिट्टीका ढेला, महातपस्वी देवल दोनोंको समान दृष्टिसे देखते थे और प्रतिदिन देवताओं तथा ब्राह्मणोंसहित अतिथियोंका पूजन एवं आदर-सत्कार करते थे
kāñcane loṣṭha-bhāve ca samadarśī mahātapāḥ | devān apūjayat nityam atithīṃś ca dvijaiḥ saha ||
વૈશંપાયને કહ્યું—તે મહાતપસ્વી સોનું અને માટીના ઢેલાને સમદૃષ્ટિથી જોતો. તે નિત્ય દેવતાઓનું પૂજન કરતો અને બ્રાહ્મણો સાથે મળીને અતિથિઓનું યથોચિત આદર-સત્કાર કરતો.
